Roseberry Rhapsody Duo

Jeremy has been a keen musician from an early age, attaining grade 8 in piano and cello aged 14 and winning local young musician awards, a piano performance diploma in 1997. While studying for a Chemistry degree at Imperial College London, he was awarded a scholarship to study cello with the Royal College of Music.  He teaches cello, piano and singing in local schools and privately, has been principal cellist of numerous local orchestras, and plays professionally in concerts and ensembles around with UK, including performing many of the major cello concertos as soloist. Recent performances include the Elgar Cello Concerto and Bruch Kol Nidrei.  He is passionate about conducting and singing, and has been musical director of three local choirs for over 15 years, and is at the helm of The Joint Choirs project – bringing local choirs together to perform major choral works, including a sell-out performance of Carmina Burana in April 2024.

Sarah Paterson

Sarah graduated from the RNCM with Bachelor of Music (Honours).  During her studies, she was awarded the Dianne Bolton Prize, was selected for the BBC Philharmonic Professional Experience Scheme, and as Principle Harp in the resident orchestra at the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte (Montepulciano).  As a member of the RNCM Harp Ensemble she performed at the Natural History Museum and the Baltic Art Gallery, and was honoured to be one of 60 harpists to play for Prince Charles’ 60th Birthday celebrations.  She currently enjoys an eclectic freelance career, teaching the harp and working regularly with orchestras across the North of England in addition to giving solo and chamber music recitals.  Recent highlights include recording projects on Arachne and Minerva (a new work for two harps and voice by Ed Carter,) Fountains of Rome (Black Dyke Band) and solo recordings, in addition to performances of Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols at Ushaw College and Ripon Cathedral, and Debussy Danse Sacree et Danse Profane with Skipton Camerata.
As a duo, Roseberry Rhapsody have given recitals at The Old Low Light, Long Newton Music, All Saints Church Northallerton, Marske Centre and Classical Cafe at Middlesbrough Town Hall (including a recent, interactive concert for school children.) They recently collaborated on the Most Creative Station project (creating a soundscape for Middlesbrough Railway Station,) and took part in the Easter Reflection Service at Emmanuel Church, Saltburn.  They also regularly enjoy playing for weddings and other functions.  Sarah and Jeremy are also part of Encore, a quartet of piano, voice, cello and harp who specialise in concerts packed with easy-listening favourites.
